Eelco van der Wal

Eelco van der Wal is the Managing Director of the worldwide association PLCopen, being headquartered in The Netherlands, Europe. PLCopen is a vendor- and product-independent worldwide association. As such we want to be the leading association resolving topics related to control programming to support the use of international standards in this field. 

Eelco has 20 years of background in industrial controls. He started in 1986 in the marketing of real-time control systems. 

Before joining PLCopen in March 1995, he was active as a product manager for a line of high-end motion controllers. He was particularly focussed to the European market, especially towards the machine tool industry. 

He is living in Holland in a small town, directly at the busiest river of Holland. In his scarce private time, he is working to restore the old house he is living in, or his old timers, specifically Triumph's.
