TCP/IP on Ethernet is more an office oriented communications technology. Bringing 
Ethernet to industrial Automation presents a set of operational and physical challenges, 
i.e. determinism, temperature or humidity. In his presentation, Hans-Werner Auberg will highlight several integration solutions beginning from low cost µ-Controller to FPGA based multi-protocol interfaces, which are moving the cost/performance horizon.
